Hi, I’m Grace and I’m the careers adviser here in Braes High School. I work for Skills Development Scotland.
My room is in the corridor off the social space outside the large gym hall (next door to PC Findlay’s room).
I’m in school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
We aim to see every pupil for a 1:1 appointment at least once during their BGE and again in the Senior Phase. Unfortunately, this sometimes means we have to interrupt lessons to request that pupils be excused, if convenient, to attend their interview. As a rule, we try to keep this to a minimum. Pupils can request to see me again at any time via the QR codes on their Teams pages or the posters displayed throughout the school.
I also run group sessions during PSE classes in every year group, so pupils get the chance to meet me then too. I meet parents at parents’ evenings and also accommodate parent/pupil appointments, mainly around subject choice time.
