Black History Month
The Equalities Group wanted to mark Black History Month in October by asking staff to find and pass forward information about a significant person who had contributed to their subject area.
These were then collated, then printed to be displayed on teachers' doors. In addition, the group had designed and created a visual display in the hub.
The group would like to pass on their appreciation to all of those who had contributed to this project.
The images have been pulled together into a short video, please see the link below.
Members of the Equalities group had chosen to celebrate religious diversity as part of observing the UN International Day of Peace. They have put together a Sway presentation of the contributions given and wanted to share this with the school community. The link to the presentation is here
We are the senior equalities group. Our aim is to make our school a more accepting place for all groups. We also aim to create a space which informs people to help everyone be more accepting of their peers. We have achieved the bronze charter awards and we are currently working towards the silver charter award which we are hoping to achieve in the near future. In recent years we have celebrated various events which look to shine light on issues affecting equality such as black history month. We look to continue our journey to make Braes a safe place for all.
