Family Learning via our Family Fun Day

Since 2018, our school has worked in partnership with local community groups and services to deliver a community-based Family Fun Day. Taking place in the summer term, and designed to open our school to the community, the families of current Braes pupils, and the families of our incoming P7 pupils. This day allows young people and their families to gain insight into modern school learning approaches, a `feel' for the community ethos of the school, and importantly to begin to see the school as a place of joy and fun. We offer Family Learning activities in our faculties that allow parents/carers and pupils to learn together. With high levels of attendance and engagement, the event receives very positive feedback and is highly valued by both pupils, families and staff alike.
